Kirloskar KOS Submersible Pumps
The Kirloskar KOS series are heavy duty submersible pumps with integrated motor-pump construction designed for sewage, drainage, dewatering, and wastewater applications. Manufactured by Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL), these pumps operate fully submerged in the liquid being pumped, eliminating suction lift limitations, priming requirements, and cavitation issues. Featuring non-clog impeller designs capable of handling solids, fibrous materials, and sludge, the KOS series includes built-in thermal protection, moisture sensors for dry run safety, and optional explosion-proof motor configurations for hazardous environments.
The KOS submersible pumps are engineered for continuous duty in challenging environments including sewage treatment plants, storm water pumping stations, construction site dewatering, industrial effluent handling, and flood control applications. The fully submerged operation saves floor space, eliminates noise at ground level, and enables installation in deep wet wells and sumps where conventional pumps cannot reach. The motor is hermetically sealed and cooled by the surrounding fluid, ensuring reliable performance even in high ambient temperature conditions. Available in both 50 Hz and 60 Hz configurations with guide rail auto-coupling systems for easy installation and removal without entering the wet well.
