Kirloskar SHM SHS Solids Handling Non-Clog Pump - 105mm Solid Size 800 m³/hr

Kirloskar SHM/SHS Solids Handling Non-Clog Pumps

The Kirloskar SHM/SHS series are heavy duty non-clog solids handling pumps designed for pumping liquids containing suspended solids, fibrous materials, and abrasive particles. Manufactured by Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL), the SHM is a horizontal single stage pump with back pull-out design handling capacity up to 800 m³/hr, head up to 90 metres, solids up to 105 mm, working pressure up to 16 bar, and temperature range of -10°C to 140°C. The SHS is the vertical non-clog sump pump variant for wet pit installations, handling capacity up to 1,500 m³/hr with delivery sizes up to 300 mm and column lengths up to 6.5 metres.

Both SHM and SHS pumps feature single-suction impellers designed for non-clog, free-flow operation with dynamic balancing for vibration-free performance. The SHM uses four interchangeable driving units across the range, enabling parts standardization and reduced spare parts inventory. The SHS vertical variant suspends via column pipe that simultaneously protects the transmission shaft, with side discharge orientation for space-efficient sump installations. Available with gland packing or mechanical seal options in both 50 Hz and 60 Hz configurations, these pumps serve sewage treatment, paper mills, sugar factories, power plants, and industrial effluent handling applications.

Frequently Asked Questions

The SHM horizontal pump handles capacity up to 800 m³/hr, head up to 90 metres, and solids up to 105 mm with working pressure up to 16 bar. The SHS vertical sump pump handles capacity up to 1,500 m³/hr with delivery sizes up to 300 mm. Both are designed for non-clog, free-flow operation.
The SHM is a horizontal non-clog pump with back pull-out design for dry pit installations, rated up to 140°C. The SHS is a vertical non-clog sump pump designed for wet pit installations, suspended via column pipe up to 6.5 metres with side discharge orientation, rated up to 90°C.
SHM/SHS pumps handle sewage, sludge, paper pulp, bagasse, strained and unstrained juice, fibrous materials, viscous liquids, coal tar, power plant slurries, contaminated process liquids, and effluent with suspended solids up to 105 mm in size.
The SHM pump operates at working pressures up to 16 bar with an operating temperature range of -10°C to 140°C, making it suitable for both cold and hot process applications in sugar factories, paper mills, and power plants.
The SHM range uses four interchangeable driving units across the complete pump range. This standardization enables parts interchangeability, reduces spare parts inventory, and simplifies maintenance across multiple pump installations.
