Richter Magnetic Drive & Mechanical Seal Chemical Process Pumps
Richter offers a complete range of fluoroplastic-lined centrifugal chemical process pumps in both sealless magnetic drive and mechanically sealed configurations. Whether your application demands zero-emission containment or the ability to handle solids-laden media, the Richter lineup — MNK, RM, QMD (magnetic drive) and SCK (mechanical seal) — provides the right solution. All pumps feature PFA, PTFE, or FEP lining for exceptional chemical resistance, with sizes up to DN 200, pressure rating PN16, and temperatures from -60°C to +200°C.
Manufactured by Richter Chemie-Technik GmbH, Germany, with over 65 years of expertise, these pumps are engineered for the safe and efficient transfer of corrosive, toxic, and hazardous chemicals. The magnetic drive series eliminates all seal-related maintenance and achieves zero fugitive emissions through permanent magnet coupling with an eddy-current-free CFRP/PTFE containment shell. The mechanical seal series uses high-performance RG4 SiC seals with deflection-resistant shafts for reliable operation with solids-laden or high-viscosity media. Both options are ATEX certified and comply with EU Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC.

Choose the right pump configuration for your chemical process application:
| Series | Drive Type | Duty Class | Size Range | Temperature | Lining |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| MNK | Magnetic Drive | Heavy Duty | DN 25–200 | -60°C to +200°C | PFA, PTFE, Conductive PFA |
| RM | Magnetic Drive | Medium Duty | DN 40–80 | -30°C to +150°C | PFA |
| QMD | Magnetic Drive | Standard Duty | DN 40–80 | -10°C to +100°C | FEP |
| SCK | Mechanical Seal | Heavy Duty | DN 25–150 | -60°C to +180°C | PFA, PTFE, Conductive PFA |
Magnetic Drive vs. Mechanical Seal — Selection Guide
Choose Magnetic Drive (MNK/RM/QMD) When:
- Zero fugitive emissions are required
- Handling toxic or hazardous fluids
- Flammable or explosive media (ATEX)
- Clean fluids without suspended solids
- Seal maintenance must be eliminated
- Environmental compliance is critical
Choose Mechanical Seal (SCK) When:
- Fluids contain suspended solids
- Handling slurries or crystallizing media
- High-viscosity fluids
- Higher flow rates & heads needed
- Self-priming is required (SCK-S)
- Vortex pumping needed (SCK-X)
