Viking External Gear Pumps (Spur Gear)
Viking SG and GB series external (spur) gear pumps are purpose-built for energy and oil & gas applications. The GB-410 series delivers up to 67 GPM at 1,500 PSI, the GB-414 series up to 210 GPM at 1,500 PSI, and the GB-425 series up to 700 GPM at 1,500 PSI. The compact SG-07 series handles 2.8–32 GPM at 500 PSI. Built with ductile iron construction and DLC-coated internals, these field-rebuildable pumps are engineered for LACT/custody transfer, glycol dehydration, gas sweetening, pipeline injection, crude oil, and condensate applications. Temperature range -40°F to +450°F.
Manufactured by Viking Pump Inc. (IDEX Corporation), Cedar Falls, Iowa, USA, Viking external gear pumps use two meshing spur gears to trap and displace fluid from the suction to the discharge side. This positive displacement action provides accurate, repeatable flow — critical for custody transfer and metering applications in the energy sector. The ductile iron construction provides superior strength and impact resistance compared to cast iron, while DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coated internals dramatically extend wear life. The field-rebuildable design allows complete pump restoration on-site without returning the unit to the factory, minimizing downtime in remote oilfield locations.
