Kirloskar KCS Canned Motor Sealless Process Pumps
The Kirloskar KCS is a sealless, glandless, zero-emission canned motor process pump where the motor and pump are integrated into a single hermetically sealed unit. Manufactured by Kirloskar Brothers Limited (KBL), it delivers capacity from 4 to 80 m³/hr, head up to 60 metres, with delivery sizes from 32 to 50 mm, working pressure of 16 bar, and operating temperature up to 90°C. With no external shaft seals or glands, the KCS achieves zero fugitive emissions, making it the safest choice for pumping corrosive, toxic, hazardous, explosive, and flammable fluids including liquefied gases and aggressive acids.
The KCS canned motor pump eliminates all seal-related maintenance, leakage risks, and environmental compliance concerns. The pumped fluid internally lubricates and cools the motor bearings, resulting in a completely contained system with no possibility of atmospheric emission. The compact, lightweight integrated construction requires no pump-to-motor alignment, reducing installation time and eliminating alignment-related vibration. With no rotating shaft penetrating the pressure boundary, the KCS is inherently safe for handling ammonia, freons, CO², vinyl chloride, ethylene oxide, sulfuric acid, nitric acid, hydrofluoric acid, and other hazardous chemicals requiring absolute containment.
